The MSO is looking for new members! Do you play an instrument that belongs to a symphony orchestra?
Playing in a symphony orchestra is a lot of fun. We are an active and close group of about 30 musicians aging from 16 to 30. During the rehearsals we of course try our best, but we also have a lot of fun together during rehearsals or at the organised activities.
We rehearse on the Monday evenings in the Vrijhof at the campus of the University of Twente, from 19:30 until 22:00. After the rehearsal we like to go to the Sports Centre to have a drink.
Meet us at our open rehearsals
If you want to know what it is like to play with us, you are very welcome to join one of our open rehearsals. They are:
– Monday September 9, 19:30 – 22:00
– Monday September 16, 19:30 – 22:00
In the Agora at the Vrijhof (De Veldmaat 5, 7522 NM Enschede). You are free to walk in but if you let us know you are coming at info@mso.utwente.nl, we will print your music for you. Also feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Did you miss the open rehearsals? That’s not a problem you are welcome to drop by at a regular rehearsal, just send an email to the board so they can arrange sheet music for you 🙂
Musician without an instrument?
For students who would like to play in an orchestra but who don’t possess an instrument, there is the possibility to rent an instrument at the Campus Instruments Fund (CIF). Currently, the collection of CIF consists of approximately 15 string and wind instruments. More information can be obtained by mailing info@mso.utwente.nl.
